Ashcroft® transducers/transmitters, pressure and temperature switches, thermometers, test equipment, and extensive variety of pressure gauges are manufactured in ISO 9001 certified facilities. Ashcroft Pressure Gauges

When it comes to industrial measurement and monitoring, Ashcroft is well known for their reliability and durability. Ashcroft pressure gauges are available in a wide variety of industrial and commercial pressure gauges, in sizes from less than 1'' to 12'', and with pressure ranges up to 100,000 psi.

 

Available in our process and stainless steel pressure gauges, the patented award-winning PLUS! option solves the problems of vibration and pulsation in your applications.


The PLUS! option provides the same performance of a liquid-filled gauge in a dry gauge – without the hassles sometimes associated with a liquid filled gauge. It also significantly increases the life of a dry gauge by 50% in severe vibration and pulsation applications.

 

Another exclusive feature found in commercial pressure gauges is the patented PowerFlex™ movement. The design of the movement cushions and protects against shock. In high vibration applications there are fewer parts to wear out. With 40% less mass, the movement can respond immediately to pressure fluctuations.

 

Ashcroft Pressure Transducers & Transmitters

Ideal for most commercial or industrial monitoring, measuring, sensing and control situations, Ashcroft transducers and transmitters include four types: gage, sealed, absolute and compound.

 

Ranging from low-to-high pressure measurement and control, our transducer technology measures ranges from 0.05 inches H2O to 20,000 psi with accuracies of 0.02%, 0.25%, 0.50% and 1%.


High-pressure models can be used on a variety of applications including HVAC and hydraulic system monitoring and control. Low-pressure control transducers and transmitters use patented Si-Glass™ technology that is designed to give longer life to low-pressure gauges. The low-pressure models work well with static or velocity pressure.

 

Ashcroft Thermometers & Thermowells

Ashcroft offers three types of thermometers: bimetal thermometers, gas-actuated Duratemp® thermometers and digital thermometers. The bimetal thermometer measures ranges from -80° F to 1000°. The gas-actuated Duratemp® series measures temperatures from -320° F to 1200° F.


The digital thermometer is panel mounted, shock and vibration resistant and comes in a watertight ultrasonic sealed case. Also available is a line of thermowells designed to work with Ashcroft industrial temperature instruments.

 

Thermowells come in 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel with available .260 and .385 bore size. Reliable and accurate, Ashcroft temperature measurement instruments are ideal for use in a wide variety of industrial measurement and monitoring applications.

 

Ashcroft Pressure Switches & Temperature Switches

Pressure and temperature switches are used in numerous applications for control, alarm and shutdown. Our pressure switches can handle setpoints up to 20,000 psi.

 

All temperature switches feature remote or direct mount bulbs, are constructed from sturdy stainless steel materials and can be used in most industrial and process applications. Setpoints are available from -40 to 750 degrees F.

 

Ashcroft Industrial Differential Pressure Switches

Our industrial differential pressure switches are designed for use with most industrial measurement, monitoring and process applications. All differential pressure switches record ranges between 30 in W.C. to 600 psid.

 

Differential pressure switches come in either watertight or explosion proof enclosures except for the PD-N7 model which includes both of these safety features.

1008 (40-50mm) all stainless steel pressure gauges help to complete our full-line product offering from 40mm to 150mm dial sizes.

 

These smaller size pressure gauges are used whenever space limitations and atmospheric and process corrosion exist. A typical application is on the input/output of regulators and transmitters.

1490 low pressure diaphragm gauge is designed to measure pressure from 10 in.H2O to 15 psi, both positive and negative pressures. This pressure gauge uses a very sensitive diaphragm capsule to measure low pressure and vacuum.

 

The low pressure diaphragm gauge is specifically designed for use whenever the pressure medium is a gas that is not corrosive to beryllium copper, brass, polysulfone and RTV silicone.

 

Typical Applications are, but not limited to, vacuum pumps, gas leak detectors, air compressors, air filters, gas burners, gas measurement, vacuum ovens, suction regulators and respirators.

The solid-front Ashcroft phenolic case gauge is truly an industry first. Offered in 4.5" size only, weather-proof, hermetically sealed or liquid-filled versions.

 

The weatherproof gauge is easily field converted to a hermetically sealed or liquid-filled gauge with a special kit. Molded threads at the front and rear of the case provide axial seals with the use of threaded rings.

 

The ring is glass-filled polypropylene. In the weather-proof version, the pressure relief back is polypropylene, fastened with stainless steel screws.

This rugged, solid-front aluminum case pressure gauge is tops in its field. It is available as a weatherproof hermetically sealed or liquid-filled version in 4.5" and 6" sizes in pressures to 30,000 psi.

 

Like the Ashcroft 1279 process pressure gauge, it can be easily field converted from the weatherproof version to either the sealed or liquid-filled version using an optional kit.

 

Ranges 50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 psi are available in 6" hermetically sealed and liquid-filled cases. All size cases are coated with black epoxy which will withstand most environmental conditions.

This unique Ashcroft pressure gauge offers all-welded construction. The tip/tube and tube/socket joints are welded. The case/socket joint is also welded and provides a permanent seal in the event that liquid filling is required.

 

The stainless steel construction is ideal for Applications where corrosion is a factor. The movement has both an overload and under load stop standard to prevent disengagement of the gears in the event of over pressure or under pressure.

 

The Duralife pressure gauges are offered in a dry version which can be field filled, and a liquid-filled version which is usually recommended for severe services.

 

A dry pressure gauge can be furnished weatherproof or hermetically sealed. Specify the XLJ variation.rof

The 4.5" and 6"  1009 pressure gauges are suitable where ambient corrosion is a major concern. Its stainless steel case and ring offer good appearance and excellent resistance to chemical, weather and corrosion attack.

 

This 1009 has many optional features that allow a user to develop a basic or special product specification. The 1009 is part of the extensive line of Ashcroft stainless steel pressure gauges.

With a pressure accuracy of ±0.5%, Grade 2A, plus rugged stainless steel construction, 1084 test pressure gauge more than exceeds the requirements for on-the-spot inspections.

 

To improve accuracy, stability and socket thread life, the bourdon tube and socket assembly is made of  316 stainless steel with all-welded construction; this system is standard for all ranges.

To make test gauge reading easier and faster, each unit is provided with a new, highly readable dial. Reading error caused by parallax is eliminated by aligning the knife-edge tip pointer with its reflection in the mirror band on the dial.

 

Also available is a stainless steel cover that fits securely over the window and protects the gauge from damage while being carried in a tool box or pocket. An attractive, cushioned Nylon fabric pouch with carrying strap is offered as standard equipment.

  • The top housing and diaphragm capsule are interchangeable with all Ashcroft bottom housings.
  • A fill/bleed connection is standard, which permits filling the seal and instrument simultaneously after evacuation and allows the fill to flow into the completed unit.
  • An O-ring, compatible with all standard fill fluids, and a Teflon back-up ring provide a seal between the diaphragm capsule and the top housing.
  • The diaphragm is Teflon coated to provide an integral gasket, thus assuring a leak-tight connection between the diaphragm and the bottom housing.

ASHCROFT® Type 1279 Duragauge® Pressure Gauge with Phenol Case VS Competitive Thermoplastic Case

Phenolic resins like those used in the case of the Ashcroft Type 1279 Duragauge® process gauge are the first commercially successful polymers.

 

Their balance of chemical and heat resistance made them a “wonder material” when developed. Ashcroft process gauge competitors use thermoplastics for their cases which are typically easier to mold than phenolic.

 

However, since process gauges are often exposed to applications requiring chemical and temperature resistance and thermal stability, the Type 1279 Duragauge process gauge with a phenolic case offers these and other superior features.

 

The Ashcroft Type 1279 case is made of PLENCO 02370, Black Phenolic Resin. It is a low ammonia, single stage curing phenolic resin. Phenolic resins are “thermosets” meaning they cure with temperature.

 

After curing, additional heating will not melt the material, but instead make it harder. If heated high enough, the materials will begin to degrade.

 

Typically, phenolic doesn’t burn, but instead will “char”, breaking down to form ash and giving off a little smoke. “Thermoplastics”, like Pocan (Polybutylene Terephthalate) on the other hand, will melt when exposed to heat. Lanxess, the manufacturer of Pocan, lists its melting point as 437°F.

 

Thermoplastics are also more likely to burn than thermosets. As such, they often incorporate flame retardants to prevent burning. When thermoplastics burn, the material will melt, creating a pool of burning liquid, or even worse, spattering burning molten plastic onto nearby surfaces.

1036 in-line sanitary pressure gauge and 1037 sanitary instrument fitting virtually eliminate process deadleg.  The design of the 1036 sanitary gauge and instrument fitting allows for the diaphragm of the gauge to be positioned at the gauge instrument fitting, eliminating the pocket or deadleg that may cause contamination.
    

The 1036 sanitary gauge and 1037 instrument fitting utilize a 1.5" Tri-Clover-type mating connection.  This feature offers flexibility to use the 1036 with the 1037 instrument fitting on sanitary instrument fitting for tube sizes from .5" thru 2".

With the Ashcroft® isolation ring, the instrument is in contact with the fill fluid, not directly with the process flow.  Clogging or fouling is never a problem.  The Iso-Ring has a flexible inner cylinder, behind which is the fill fluid.  As process liquid flows through the pipe, it exerts pressure.
 
The pressure exerted by the fill fluid is then monitored by the instrument-sensing element.  A 360-degree flexible cylinder means no plugging, assuring reliable and accurate pressure readings.  A built-in threaded needle valve is provided as standard.  This permits the removal of a pressure instrument for calibration, repair, or replacement without shutting down the process flow.
   
Adaptable to a variety of process conditions and applications, the Ashcroft® Iso-Ring can be used for protection of instrumentation such as pressure gauges, switches, transmitters, recorders and transducers.  The Iso-Ring fits between customer-supplied piping flanges like many butterfly valves, and is available for piping diameters from 2" to 20".  It can be used at any pressure within the limitations of ASME classes 150 and 300, and even in most vacuum applications.
   
Ashcroft® Type 85 and 86 Iso-Spools are used for small-diameter piping.  Designed to provide a large sensing area in the smaller pipe diameters from 1" to 2", the patented Iso-Spool is offered in either NPT threaded or flanged models.  Type 86 is available with flat or raised-face flanges.

1008 product line offers the opportunity to specify an economical corrosion-resistant pressure gauge where accuracies better than ASME grade B (3-2-3%) are not required.

 

The 1008S model has a stainless steel case, bourdon tube, and socket. The case/socket joint is welded, making the 1008S less susceptible to leaking than conventional pressure gauges when liquid filled.

 

A dry pressure gauge can be furnished weatherproof or hermetically sealed. Specify the XLJ variation.
